MauiTime: Ho’omana Spa Maui Presents Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Outreach on Molokai
Ho’omana Spa Maui, a locally owned and operated Spa and Cultural Healing Education Centerin Upcountry Maui, is preparing to launch their Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Outreach program on Molokai at the end of this month. This program is an extension of Ho’omana Spa Maui’s dedication to preserving ancient healing techniques through Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage, Ho’oponopono and La’au Lapa’au by incorporating these traditions in the modern spa experience.
Jeana Iwalani Naluai, spa owner and international instructor of Lomi Lomi massage and Hawaiian spiritual teachings, will bring her expertise along with 15 additional massage therapists to Molokai from June 27-29. The Ho’omana team of licensed therapists and Lomi Lomi apprentices will be offering over 125 hours of free Hawaiian massage treatments to local residents and Molokai kupuna.
In a June 19 press release, Naluai said that Ho’omana Spa Maui was able to sponsor this program through their fundraising efforts over the last few months. “We got local businesses and community members on Maui to pledge donations to have our staff go into Waiehu and Paukukalo Hawaiian Homes and offer community Lomi Lomi,” Naluai said. “It was such a blessing to share aloha with out Hawaiian community on Maui and be given a double blessing of receiving the funds we needed to do the same for our Molokai brothers and sisters.”
The Ho’omana team will be offering free 50-minute massage sessions at the Keawanui Fishpond on Friday, June 27 from 2pm-6pm and on Saturday, June 28 from 9am-3pm.
