Maui County DMV to Open Lahaina Satellite Office

Maui County DMV to Open Lahaina Satellite Office

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 16, the County of Maui’s Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing will open its Lāhainā satellite office to assist West Side residents who lost their Hawaiʻi driver’s license or state identification cards during the wildfire that decimated Lāhainā Town on Aug. 8.

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and walk-ins will be accepted. Temporary driver’s licenses and identification cards will be available for pick-up at the Lāhainā office the following business day between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Residents requesting duplicate licenses and IDs will not be charged, though changes to cardholders’ address and other information will not be allowed at this time.

No other services or transactions will be offered until further notice.

West Maui residents who can’t go to the Lāhainā satellite office in person may submit requests by calling the DMV at (808) 270-7363 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or emailing dmv@mauicounty.gov. Be prepared to provide a full legal name and date of birth.
