Balai Pata

Diners are invited to immerse themselves in Filipino cuisine at Balai Pata, the latest concept by renowned chef Joey Macadangdang. Known for his successful fast-casual eatery Joey’s Kitchen, this new venture offers a taste of Macadangdang’s childhood in the Philippines. Emphasizing a family-style dining experience, the menu includes classic dishes like lumpia with local venison, shrimp ukoy, sisig, adobo, insarabasab with ahi belly, kare-kare stew, laing, pancit and, of course, the must-try crispy pata with soy-chili sawsawan.

Ogo

Experience the evolution of an Asian-fusion gem in Kahului as it makes the leap from food truck to a brick-and-mortar space. Executive chef Grant Oura crafts a menu inspired by Hawaiian cuisine, featuring elevated local flavors such as taro gnocchi, hamachi and ʻahi sashimi with ponzu shave ice, tempura pork ribs with smoked guava butter, whole fried taʻape, oxtail katsu (above), and a lechon maki roll.

Point Break Pizza & Panini

Located at the Maui Harbor Shops in Māʻalaea, Point Break Pizza & Panini prides itself on offering slow-rise pizza dough, homemade focaccia and all the good vibes. Choose from specialty pizzas like Da Transplant with kālua pork and grilled pineapple, the veggie-loaded Garden of Eats, a carbonara-inspired creation or a build-your-own option. Also savor grilled or toasted paninis, hearty salads and tempting desserts like cannolis or tiramisu. Many items can be made vegetarian or vegan upon request.

Introducing Tikehau Lounge, Wailea’s latest bar, where the craft cocktail menu evolves with the availability of local spirits and ingredients. Sip on classics with a tropical twist like the Hashimoto Farm-grown persimmon Old Fashioned, negroni with a Kula strawberry ice cube, or a cold brew martini featuring three rums all distilled in Hawaiʻi. Happy hour specials are available from 3 to 4:30 p.m., including a tropical mai tai, seasonal daiquiri and a discounted Rum Cannonball slushie. Pair libations with light bites like a lomi lomi shooter, smoked taro hummus or rum-infused haupia.
