Get a Taste of Excellence at Timbers Kauaʻi

Timbers Kauaʻi Ocean Club & Residences holds the Michelin Key to elevated island experiences; its next dinner is on Dec. 19.

Set in a picturesque cove along the Kauaʻi coastline, Timbers Kauaʻi Ocean Club & Residences is the centerpiece of an expansive 450-acre property. With exceptional amenities such as two- to four-bedroom residences, the island’s only Jack Nicklaus signature 18-hole golf course and oceanfront fine dining at Hualani’s—featuring fresh produce from an on-site 16.5-acre organic farm—the resort offers a truly unparalleled experience.

This excellence was recently recognized by the esteemed Michelin Guide, which debuted its Michelin Key distinction earlier this year. Timbers Kauaʻi is one of 288 recipients of this prestigious award, which is the hotel equivalent to the guide’s coveted Michelin Stars for the culinary world. Fulfilling the world’s highest standards for design, character, value, service and impact, this slice of paradise embodies all of the qualities that set Michelin Key resorts apart.

A prime example of the resort’s elevated programming is its new wine dinner series, which launched in October. The inaugural event, aptly named Haʻaheo o Kauaʻi (Pride of Kauaʻi), featured a multicourse farm-to-table meal created by Kauaʻi-born executive chef Alex Amorin, highlighting locally sourced produce and proteins.

The interactive evening started in the herb garden at The Farm at Hōkūala, where diners enjoyed pūpū (appetizers) fresh from the ʻāina (land). The experience continued at a communal table on another part of the farm for the second course before culminating at the Farm Hale, where the final three courses were served in an intimate setting. Throughout the meal, dishes were paired with Jackson Family wines selected by another Kauaʻi native, Chris Ramelb, and Michael Jordan—two of only 279 master sommeliers in the world.

The next iteration of this epicurean adventure will be held on Dec. 19, featuring five courses expertly paired with wines from Rombauer Vineyards. Tickets are $245 per person with reservations available via OpenTable.

Other standout services and activities include fresh farm baskets curated for guests and owners to enjoy in their accommodations as well as a hands-on tour of The Farm at Hōkūala, complete with fruit picking and tasting. Guests can also participate in immersive recreation like a bird and wildlife tour with the on-property naturalist, cultural workshops to learn the art of kupeʻe (bracelet making) and ʻohe kapala (bamboo stamping), aquatic adventures like paddleboarding through the Hōkūala lagoons, guided hikes and biking excursions, plus much more.

Although the property offers everything needed for an incredible Hawaiian retreat, its location just minutes from Līhuʻe adds even more convenience. Serving as the cultural and historical epicenter of Kauaʻi, with locales like the 1,000-year-old ʻAlekoko “Menehune” Fishpond aquaculture reservoir and Kauaʻi Museum, the capital city is also a gateway for local events, nightlife and transportation as it’s home to the island’s main harbor and airport.

From food enthusiasts and nature lovers to adventure seekers and cultural explorers, there’s something for everyone—whether you’re staying for a weekend or a lifetime. More than just a destination, Timbers Kauaʻi Ocean Club & Residences is an experience that seamlessly blends the island’s natural beauty with an unequivocal sense of luxury. As one of the first Michelin Key properties, and one of five One Key hotels in Hawaiʻi, Timbers Kauaʻi continues to set the standard for world-class hospitality.
